Class for young chefs costs $125, begins June 27

Teen Chef Academy is being offered for ages 13 to 19, June 27 to 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Culinary Kitchen of the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College in Ashdown, Ark.

"Young chefs will learn and improve their cooking skills and receive hands-on cooking experiences, a cookbook, kitchen utensils, an apron and the confidence to prepare meals at home for family and friends. They will be taught by University of Arkansas Family and Consumer Sciences Agents with each day focusing on a different menu. Youth will eat what they make from scratch, such as pizza and dough, homemade ice cream, blueberry muffins, and omelets, just to name a few," said Carla Hadley, Miller County Family and Consumer Sciences Agent.
