Eric Lamont Turner, 20, of Texarkana, Ark., and Katelin Marie Jordan, 19, of New Boston, Texas, were charged with burglary of a vehicle. Turner was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, said Bowie County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jeff Neal.

The pair are being held in the Bi-State jail. Their bonds have not been set yet. A third suspect has not been located yet, Neal said.

Bowie County Deputy Westin Fannin responded early Friday to a call of a suspicious vehicle on Cardinal Lane in Wake Village. The person who called 911 about the car said that when she turned on her front porch light to see who was outside, the driver of the vehicle turned off the headlights of their car.

Fannin found a vehicle matching the description of the suspicious one a short distance away parked in the driveway of a home on nearby Carrol Lane. As he approached the vehicle, Fannin saw a man run from the garage area of this home and get in the rear seat of the car. He also noticed a woman in the driver's seat of the same vehicle.

Fannin said he began talking to the suspects and saw something silver lying in the floor that the male suspect was attempting to conceal with his foot. Believing this item to be a firearm, Fannin instructed the man to move his foot. This revealed a handgun.

They told Fannin they were out in the area with a friend whose white German shepherd had jumped from the car and run off. They claimed they were simply out looking for their friend's lost dog when Fannin found them. Because of this highly doubtful story and the male occupant's suspicious actions, Fannin asked the two for consent to search their vehicle, which they granted.

Located during this search was a black purse, two masks, several bandanas, a BB gun, a drill, a tool bag, a radar detector, two vehicle television screens and a pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.

The pair were then arrested. Jordan allegedly told investigators she had been driving Turner and another man around to different locations where she would park their vehicle and the two would exit. They would return a short time later with stolen items and she would drive them to the next location to repeat these actions.
