It was wall-to-wall creative insanity Monday at Texarkana College's annual Shear Madness Avant Garde Hair and Fashion show, with several teams competing for top awards in the competition.
Cosmetology students from the college and dual-credit high school students worked hair, makeup and fashion magic to create out-of-this world looks, including "Space Chicks," "Fallen Future," "Queen Solar Ray," and "Chromatic Callisto."
Ronda Dozier, TC's cosmetology Ccoordinator, said the outstanding designs were the results of the professional training the students receive in their comprehensive program.
"We train our students to be designers as well as professionals," she said. "We teach them to do this extreme competition, so if they can create something like that from a picture, from a vision, then they can just about create anything."
Cosmetology students from area high schools participated, including those from Pleasant Grove, Redwater, Texas High, Hooks, Atlanta and Queen City.
