Texarkana Gazette's Salute to Veterans reception will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church.
This is the 18th year for the event. Registration is at 2 p.m. The ceremony starts at 2:30 p.m.
Gazette Editor Les Minor will emcee the event, which features patriotic music, a performer and recognition of various service branches. Lunch will be served, and door prizes will be given out.
"The Texarkana Gazette is proud to host this event as it has each year since 2000," Minor said. "To honor the sacrifices of servicemen and women is a privilege, and on Friday, we will do that in a public way."
Minor said in addition to the luncheon and musical entertainment, a short patriotic film will be shown to set the tone.
The church is at 4000 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas.
