Building Inspector Crashes Into Abandoned Building

The building inspector for the city of Texarkana, Texas, was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon after crashing a city vehicle into an abandoned building. Mark "Hoss" Edwards was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital after he crashed into the building at 26th Street and State Line Avenue, city spokeswoman Lisa Thompson said. The cause of the crash is suspected to be related to medical issues of the driver, but details had not been confirmed as of late Wednesday, Thompson said. Edwards has been a city employee for 10 years. Police are investigating the accident.
