Fouke community center to hold presentation about Indian trading post

Frank McFerrin, Fouke Museum curator, will give a presentation on the history of Sulphur Fork Indian Trading Post on Tuesday at the community center in Fouke, Ark.

The 45-minute presentation starts at 6 p.m., with a question-and-answer session to follow. The event is open to the public, and cookies and coffee will be provided.

The trading post operated nearly 200 years ago and involved members of the Caddo, Coushatta, Shawnee, Kichai, Kickapoo, Delaware, Choctaw and Pascagoula tribes.
