A Texas-side woman was arrested late Thursday afternoon in a stabbing that happened earlier in the day on Oakhill Road.
Jontreka Westmoreland, 25, was booked into the Bi-State Justice Building jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she allegedly stabbed a 19-year-old woman in the chest during a fight.
Officers were dispatched to the residence at 12:24 p.m. and found the wounded 19-year-old. They were told Westmoreland and the victim were involved in a longstanding dispute that led to a fight in the home's front yard. During the fight, Westmoreland produced a knife and stabbed the victim once, police said.
Westmoreland allegedly fled in a vehicle before officers arrived.
The victim was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System for treatment. Her condition remained unknown late Thursday.
