Father sues G-Force over girl's broken leg

The father of a 13-year-old girl who suffered a broken leg at a Texarkana, Texas, trampoline park is suing for damages.

Michael Lamon filed suit on behalf of himself and his daughter in Bowie County District Court last week with the help of Texarkana lawyer Jonathan Prazak of the Boyd Prazak firm. The complaint names G-Force Entertainment Inc. doing business as G-Force Indoor Trampoline and Ninja Complex as defendant.

Calls to G-Force for comment Wednesday were not immediately returned.

The complaint alleges Lamon's daughter was visiting the State Line Avenue business March 17 when she suffered a compound fracture in her leg as the result of a collision with another patron on a trampoline. The suit alleges G-Force either didn't have a rule preventing more than one person from jumping on a trampoline surface at a time or that the business failed to enforce such a rule.

"Because defendant failed to implement or enforce such rules, plaintiff's 13-year-old daughter was bullied and harassed by an older, larger male participant who, when attempting to 'bounce'," the girl, fell on her and caused a compound fracture.

The suit alleges G-Force is guilty of negligence for failing to protect patrons from the hazards in the park and for failing to enforce rules prohibiting multiple jumpers on a single trampoline. The suit alleges G-Force is negligent for failing to warn patrons and for failing to properly train staff.

Damages over $100,000 but less than $200,000 are asked for in the complaint to compensate the girl and her father for past and future medical expenses, past and future pain and suffering, past and future physical impairment and disfigurement. The suit alleges the company acted with "conscious indifference" to the hazards of the park and asks for exemplary damages meant to punish and deter the same conduct in the future. The complaint also asks for attorney fees and court costs.

The case has been assigned to 202nd District Judge John Tidwell. G-Force has not filed a response.
