The TAFD has responded to six dumpster fires at the Links Apartments, 333 Links Drive, since July 28, Johnson said.

"Five of those fires were at the same dumpster. Dumpster fires are some of the more dangerous types of fires encountered by firefighters. This is due to the nature of the items disposed of in a dumpster. Due to this, firefighters tasked with extinguishing the dumpster fire are at a high risk of serious physical harm," Johnson said.

Johnson conducted a surveillance operation Wednesday night and at 8 p.m., observed the dumpster being set on fire by a suspect identified as Wright. Wright is a resident of the apartment complex. He was taken into custody without incident.
