Driver Handbook revised, online

The Texas Driver Handbook has been revised and produced in a printable, online-only format.

The update includes information on texting while driving and other revisions passed by the Texas Legislature during the 85th Legislative Session. All laws were effective Sept.1.

The handbook also includes suggestions on what drivers should expect when pulled over by law enforcement. The information, beginning on page 68, was compiled through input from a group of advocacy attorneys, civil liberties organizations, members of law enforcement and lawmakers.

The suggestions will serve as a foundation for the educational curriculum outlined by Senate Bill 30.

The handbook is available at dps.texas.gov/internetforms.
