Father disappears from soccer practice

September 14th, 2017 in Texarkana News
Anthony Carmeli

Bowie County Search and Rescue is assisting local police in the search for a missing man.

Search teams are using horses and dogs to comb the wooded areas near the soccer fields where Anthony Carmeli, 42, was last seen.

Carmeli walked away from his children's soccer practice Monday evening in the 1500 block of Pine Street, according to police.

After reportedly asking another parent at the practice to watch his children while he "took care of something," Carmeli left on foot in an unknown direction. His cellphone was turned off shortly afterward.

Friends and family say this is not normal behavior for him and they are concerned for Carmeli because of his medical conditions.

Carmeli is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 250 pounds. He has blue eyes, black hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, shorts and an Arkansas Razorbacks cap.

Anyone with information regarding Carmeli's whereabouts is asked to call 903-798-3154.
