One person was killed and two were injured Wednesday night when a car and a log truck collided at South Lake Drive and Buchanan Road.
The accident happened about 7:35 p.m. Wednesday. No names had been released as of late Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they discovered that the female passenger in the car was deceased. Both drivers were transported to CHRISTUS Saint Michael Hospital, where they are being treated for unknown injuries, said Shawn Vaughn, spokesman for Texarkana, Texas, Police
Department.
"While information is somewhat limited at this point, the preliminary investigation indicates that the log truck was travelling northbound on South Lake Drive. The personal vehicle was southbound and attempting a left turn onto Buchanan Road. The truck struck the personal vehicle as it crossed into the path of the truck," Vaughn said.
The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The crash is still under investigation.
