AMERICAN LEGION UNDERGOES REPAIRS

Julio (no last name) mixes concrete on Thursday to repair the side wall of the American Legion Post 2558 building. The building's wall facing Laurel Street was heavily damaged on July 1 when a vehicle left Broad Street and hit the American Legioin's exterior wall at a high rate of speed. Steel poles had to be installed to brace the building, which was constructed in 1919. Because the building, located at 525 Broad St., is historic, building codes require the repair work to resemble as closely as possible the structure's original state. 413 Construction Partners LLC is doing the work.
