The first 30 dog and cat adoptions will be free between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Texarkana Animal Care and Adoption Center.

Local pet advocacy group Partners for Paws and an anonymous donor are sponsoring a Clear the Shelter event and paying the costs-normally totaling at least $164-for adoption fees, microchipping, spaying or neutering, and rabies vaccinations.

Each adoption will come with a free gift bag containing items such as pet food, bowls, collars and toys.

The center will also provide dog microchips for $10, half off the normal price of $20.

The center is at 203 Harrison St. For more information, call 870-773-6388.
