Riverbend to hold work session today

Riverbend Water Resources District will hold a work session at 10 a.m. today to present and discuss the true-up for fiscal year 2018-19. At approximately 11:30 a.m., a presentation will also be given on regional water and wastewater rates.

The true-up process began in 2011 as the result of Riverbend's formation. It provides the opportunity for any original member cities, which include Texarkana, Texas, Avery, Annona, DeKalb, Hooks, Maud, New Boston and Wake Village, to review the cost of production for the wholesale rate of regional water.

NewGen Consulting will give regional water and wastewater rate presentation and include information on regional water rates as they exist today and what they might look like in the future for the development of new water infrastructure on Wright Patman Lake, including a new raw water intake, pump, raw water line, water treatment facility at Riverbend's TexAmericas location and a new water treatment facility in Cass County.

The meeting will be held at the Riverbend Offices, 228A Texas Ave., New Boston, Texas.
