School district board approves bid

Texarkana, Ark., School District Board of Education approved a bid to purchase furniture from Firmin's Office City on Tuesday night at its regular meeting.

The $18,880.31 bid was the lowest bid received and will purchase 20 tables with wire management and casters, 40 chairs with casters, five whiteboard tables, 20 chairs and four media-space adjustable tables for North Heights Junior High School, according to information from the agenda.

The board met for its regular meeting at the TASD Administration Building at East 35th and Jefferson.

Board members voted unanimously to approve the bid. The furniture will be used in the North Heights Robotics Lab.

The funds are provided by the Magnet Grant to ensure students have the resources they need to be successful and to complete collaborative work assignments.

In other business, the board accepted the legislative audit report and considered a school improvement plan.
