Main Street Texarkana unveils newest historic ornament

The 2018 Main Street Christmas Ornament featuring the historic Rialto-Harrell Building is now available.

In 1902, Benjamin Foreman and George W. Fouke founded the building at 317 N. State Line Ave., Texarkana, Texas.

Notable for its "flat iron" shape, the structure, which would later be known as the Medical Arts Building, was one of the first solid brick buildings in town and was also one of the first to have electricity.

"It is a community favorite, sitting next to the Hotel Grim, and one that many ask about," Executive Director of Main Street Texarkana Ina McDowell said in a press release

The pewter ornament is part of the series of collectible ornaments that Main Street Texarkana produces each year to recognize the city's oldest treasures

Each ornament is available for $15 and can be purchased at Fan Fare Gifts, Pleasant Grove Pharmacy, Benchmark American Brasserie and Main Street Texarkana's office in the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce building.
