Trustees to discuss land deal for new school

Pleasant Grove Independent School District's Board of Trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. today to consider a for a definitive exchange agreement with CHRISTUS Ark-La-Tex Health for land on which to build the new elementary school.

The agreement is for the exchange of a 4.35-acre tract owned by the district for 12.054 acres owned by CHRISTUS Ark-La-Tex Health. That tract, at Galleria Oaks and Christus drives, will be the site of the new elementary school. Funds for the school come from a $19.9 million bond voters approved in May for the school, security improvements and technology upgrades.

The board will also consider a resolution to enter into a transfer and charitable gift agreement with CHRISTUS for them to donate a 1.4-acre tract of land adjacent to the new elementary school site.

A public hearing will also be held on the district's financial integrity rating system.

The meeting will be held at the Central Services, 8500 N. Kings Highway, Texarkana, Texas.
