Friends United for a Safe Environment will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Texarkana Public Library in the Nelson Room.
Dean Attaway, acting project forester for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will explain the Corps' environmental stewardship practices during the meeting. He will speak about how the Corps manages resources and protects the environment in the Piney Woods region of the Corps' Fort Worth district, which includes the Texarkana area.
Attaway has been working in the field with the Corps of Engineers as a natural resource specialist for the past nine years.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
