Man gets 12 years for meth distribution

A Dallas, Texas, man was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison Thursday for methamphetamine distribution by a federal judge in Texarkana.

Jason Wayne McLemore, 40, is one of multiple defendants indicted by a federal grand jury in the Texarkana Division of the Eastern District of Texas, Texarkana Division, for conspiring to distribute major quantities of meth. An indictment in the case remains under seal because at least one of the defendants listed has not been arrested.

McLemore was arrested in the Dallas area in May and has been in custody since. McLemore pleaded guilty Oct. 30 to conspiracy to distribute "bulk methamphetamine" he acquired from suppliers in Dallas and distributed in Mount Pleasant, Texas, according to a factual basis used to create the following account.

"Within the conspiracy, I served as a distributor, receiving pound-level quantities or larger shipments of methamphetamine from suppliers from Dallas and other areas, and then further distributing the methamphetamine to others, including those whom I knew lived the the Mt. Pleasant, Texas area," the factual basis states. "I knew that others whom I supplied would further distribute the methamphetamine before it was purchased by end users."

At a hearing Thursday before U.S. District Judge Robert Schroeder III, McClemore was sentenced to 151 months in federal prison. Following his release, he will be supervised by federal officials for five years and can be returned to prison if he violates the conditions of his supervised release.

McLemore must forfeit two shotguns, three rifles and a pistol as well as more than $25,000 in cash seized at the time of his arrest. A $100,000 money judgment, meant to represent the proceeds of McLemore's illicit conduct, was ordered as well.

Court documents reflect that at least eight defendants are named in the indictment, including McLemore. Daniel Enrique Montes-Munoz is listed as defendant two, Timothy Franklin Harper as defendant four, McLemore as defendant five and Gerald Clinton Davis as defendant eight. The identities of others named in the sealed indictment remain unknown. The other in-custody defendants have entered pleas of not guilty and are scheduled for trial in April.
