A 1-month-old girl flown to a Little Rock hospital Wednesday with broken ribs, pelvic and leg injuries and possible skull abnormalities is in stable condition and expected to recover, according to Miller County Sheriff's Office.

Emergency room physicians at CHRISTUS St. Michael reported the injuries to the sheriff's office, and the baby was sent to Arkansas Children's Hospital for specialized treatment, said Capt. Mark Lewis, chief deputy for MCSO, in a press release sent Friday. Doctors are monitoring her condition, according to the sheriff's office.

The child's parents, Charles Uribe, 28, and Crystal Uribe, 23, were arrested on first-degree battery charges and booked into Miller County Detention Center, according to earlier reports.

The investigation is ongoing.
