Arkansas gubernatorial candidate Jan Morgan to attend event in Texarkana

Jan Morgan, a former Texarkana newscaster who is challenging Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson for the GOP nomination, will attend a meet-and-greet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Texarkana, Ark., according to a campaign official.

The free event will be at New Haven Golf Course, 2321 Line Ferry Road.

Morgan, who owns the Gun Cave Indoor Firing Range in Hot Springs, Ark., announced plans on New Year's Eve to run for governor. If elected, Morgan would become Arkansas' first female governor.

Morgan worked in the Texarkana television market for a number of years beginning in the 1980s. In addition to covering news events for local network affiliates, she also appeared on Christian-based KLFI TV.

She is a Fox News/Fox Business Network analyst.
