A Texarkana, Texas, man remains missing six months after disappearing while helping a friend move.

Richard "Rickey" York, 45, was last seen July 4, 2017, when he was dropped off on U.S. Highway 59 just south of Interstate 30. He was highly intoxicated and requested the person with whom he was riding to leave him on the road, according to police.

York had been helping a friend move furniture from a storage unit. He then requested his friend drop him off near a local business, and he has not been seen since.

His family believed he might have been celebrating the Fourth of July, but they reported him missing when they had not heard him by July 17, 2017.

"We have followed up on every lead that we had. The case is still open but it is in a suspended state unless some new leads come in," Texarkana, Texas, police spokesman Shawn Vaughn said Tuesday.

York is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 200 pounds, has black hair, brown eyes and graying facial hair. He was wearing denim shorts, a T-shirt and tennis shoes.

Call TTPD at 903-798-3116 to report information on York's case. His family is also offering a $3,100 reward for information on his whereabouts.
