A former Texarkana newscaster who is challenging Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson for the GOP nomination for governor will campaign at 7 p.m. Friday in Hope.
The free event for Jan Morgan will be at the Fair Park Community Center on 800 Mockingbird Lane. The building is part of the Hope Fair Park Coliseum complex.
The campaign visit is hosted by the Hope Tea Party.
Morgan, who owns the Gun Cave Indoor Firing Range in Hot Springs, Ark., announced plans on New Year's Eve to run for governor. She would become the state's first female governor.
Morgan worked in the Texarkana television market for a number of years beginning in the 1980s. In addition to covering news events for local network affiliates, she also appeared on Christian-based KLFI TV.
She is a Fox News/Fox Business Network analyst.
