Authorities still investigate girl's electrocution

New Boston Police Department continues to investigate the apparent electrocution of a 10-year-old girl.

Police are waiting on medical examiner and fire marshal reports before closing the case, said Katie Jimenez, public affairs officer for the police department.

The girl died Saturday in the laundry room of her home, according to police. She reportedly was trying to get her pet kittens from behind the dryer.

"It appears to be have been either the dryer or something else in the laundry room that electrocuted her," Jimenez said.

The child's body was sent for an autopsy.
