Child, 6, dies after Interstate 30 crash

A 6-year-old girl who was injured in a wreck Thursday on Interstate 30 has died from her injuries.

She died at Children's Hospital in Little Rock, according to information from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Two adults and several children were injured in the one-vehicle accident on Interstate 30 near mile-marker 196 west of New Boston, said Sgt. Sylvia Jennings, spokeswoman for DPS. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2009 Infinity QX35 driven by Lavaughn Tyrone Baker, 33, of Frisco, Texas, was traveling west when it exited the roadway to the right and rolled several times, Jennings said.

Baker and two young, male passengers, ages 3 and 7, received non-incapacitating injuries. They were taken to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana for treatment.

Jenna Morales, 31, of Frisco and three female minor passengers, ages 4, 6 and 7, were taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System in Texarkana. None of the other injuries were life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation.
