Liberty-Eylau Independent School District's Board of Trustees approved the 2018-19 Student Code of Conduct and a legal agreement during their regular meeting Thursday.

Superintendent Ronnie Thompson said the code of conduct models the standards used across the state.

"We always use the TASB model Code of Conduct as our baseline and that's what this Code of Conduct comes from," he said.

The board also unanimously approved an agreement with Leasor Crass for legal services. Rhonda Crass has represented the district for the past two years and Thompson said they had been happy with her services.

District Business Manager Susie Byrd gave the financial report. The district ended the month of June with $13.8 million in total cash and investments, with $21.7 million in revenue collected as of June 30. Of that, $14.6 million has been collected in foundation payments, $6 million has been collected in taxes and $122,000 has been earned in interest and penalties on past due taxes.

The district has spent $16.9 million in the construction account for 2017-18, of that $14.7 million was spent at the elementary, $873,00 at the Pre-K addition, $1.23 million for the high school CTE renovation and $67,000 for heat and air control systems.

Trustees also approved teacher appraisers and the appraisal calendar for the 2018-19 school year.

The next meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 16.
