Biology professor will speak Tuesday

Dr. Kenneth W. Crane, biology and math professor at Texarkana College, will present his findings about Days Creek's current health status in a talk to Friends United for a Safe Environment.

The monthly meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Nelson Room of the Texarkana Public Library. The public is invited to the free program.

In the 1970s, Days Creek had its environmental challenges.

Now, Crane has discovered the creek in South Texarkana fails to meet current acceptable standards. Following a brief PowerPoint presentation, he will answer questions and entertain a discussion about what needs to be done to rescue the local stream.

Crane holds a Ph.D. degree in quantitative biology is from the University of Texas at Arlington.

His research applies mathematical models to problems of biology.

His teaching fields include biology, anatomy and physiology, and math.
