Buc-ee's, a Texas-based chain of travel stops, has entered into an "option to purchase" arrangement with the owners of KOA Texarkana/Northgate Properties.
According to Jerry Bergman, manager of the local KOA properties, the tenants on the properties have been notified of the arrangement.
"Buc-ee's has until December of 2019 to close on this option," said Bergman. "If Buc-ee's does elect to do this, then residents have six months to relocate upon the date the option is exercised, according to Texas law."
"It is an option to purchase at this time," he said. "No purchase has actually been made yet."
KOA Texarkana is at 500 St. Michael Drive, Texarkana, Texas, just north of Interstate 30.
Several attempts to contact Buc-ee's for comment have been unsuccessful.
Buc-ee's has announced plans to build a Royse City location, just off Interstate 30 en route to Dallas, by 2020, according to media reports.
