Screening of 'Wonder' reset for June 21

Because of inclement weather last week, the Texas-side Parks and Recreation Department has rescheduled one of the films in this spring's Movies in the Park series.

The department canceled a screening of "Wonder" slated for June 7 and will show the film June 21.

The remainder of this spring's lineup follows, with information from imdb.com. Both films will be shown at Spring Lake Park free of charge.

  •  June 14-"Paddington 2"

PG. 2017. Hugh Grant. Voices of Ben Whishaw, Michael Gambon, Imelda Staunton. Paddington, now happily settled with the Brown family and a popular member of the local community, picks up a series of odd jobs to buy the perfect present for his Aunt Lucy's 100th birthday, only for the gift to be stolen.

  •  June 21-"Wonder"

PG. 2017. Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Jacob Tremblay. Based on the New York Times bestseller, the inspiring, heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.

Each movie will begin as the sun sets, around 7:45 p.m. Viewers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on. Concessions will be for sale.
