Subway restaurant closing its doors

The sign out front was posted yesterday, and today, June 16, 2018, the Subway sandwich shop at 4014 N. State Line is closed.

According to Madu Patel, co-owner of the restaurant, this may be temporary.

"We are not going out of business," said Patel. "This is not a permanent closing. That is all we can say at this time."

This Subway location has been in business in Texarkana for many years. It opened in 1997, 20 years ago, and has been operating at this location the whole time.

"I'm really sad this Subway is closing," said Joshylyn Sanders, one of the workers at the location.

"It has been here forever. I hope everyone comes to the Walmart location nearby."

The owners of this Subway own several in the region, including the Walmart location referenced above.
