The Hempstead County Historical Society will provide a bus tour to Saline Township and the communities of Columbus and Saratoga on 2 p.m. Sunday. The tour will visit the western side of current Hempstead County and explore its history.
The Historical Society will provide a series of bus tours each month to each of the different townships of Hempstead County as part of the celebration of the Hempstead County bicentennial.
The bus will leave from Hope at the parking lot across from BancorpSouth at Third and Elm streets. The tour will last a little more than two hours. Admission is $10 per person and will go to support the Historical Society. Reservations are required.
The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County.
