Ina McDowell, executive director of Main Street Texarkana, announced the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program has granted MS-T an annual grant, in the amount of $15,000. The grant is a program that is distributed to downtown businesses in the Main Street area on the Arkansas on a matching basis.

"We've received this grant for the past several years," McDowell said. "This money goes to accredited Main Street organizations. Each year we are examined to make sure we meet certain criteria in demonstrating the use of funds in supporting our main street district. Eligibility has to be re-certified annually."

It will take a few weeks before the money becomes available to organizations.

"We will be soon taking applications for these funds," McDowell said. "To apply, go to www.mainstreettexarkana.org. Contact us online or call us at 903-792-7191 for more information."
