Texarkana is a nominee in an online contest that could net $25,000 for downtown development advocate Main Street Texarkana.
Anyone can vote in the America's Main Streets contest sponsored by STIHL Inc. To vote, visit mainstreetcontest.com.
Prizes include $25,000, a $1,000 STIHL gift certificate and $500 shopping sprees from Do it Best Corp. and PPG Paints.
"I hope this is an opportunity for our city to come together and vote for what is the heart of our community, downtown," said Ina McDowell, executive director of Main Street Texarkana.
Quarterfinal voting is open until April 22. Semifinalist voting will be from April 30 to May 27, and the winner announcement will be June 4.
