A Texarkana man accused of fatally shooting another at a Texarkana, Texas, gas station parking lot earlier this year wants his $1 million bail reduced.

Tyvon Gullatt, 22, appeared Friday afternoon before 102nd District Judge Bobby Lockhart with Texarkana lawyer Will Williams, who was standing in for Texarkana lawyer Jasmine Crockett. Williams said Crockett, who was out of town and unable to attend the hearing, is asking the court to schedule a hearing to address a motion for a bond reduction she recently filed on Gullatt's behalf.

Lockhart scheduled a hearing on the issue of bail for March 23. Assistant District Attorney Kelley Crisp said she expects her office to present the case to a grand jury later this month. If Gullatt is formally indicted, he could be arraigned at the March 23 hearing and a date for trial scheduled.

Gullatt is accused of shooting 25-year-old Carlos Clark at the Chevron gas station in the 500 block of North State Line Avenue in Texarkana, Texas. Police were called to the store shortly after 1 a.m. and found Clark in the back of a car suffering from a gunshot wound to his back, according to an earlier statement from Texarkana, Texas, police.

The injured man allegedly gave officers the first name of the man who allegedly shot him before being transported to a local hospital, where he died.

If convicted of murder, Gullatt faces five to 99 years or life in prison.
