The Texarkana Home Builders Association's 2018 Home and Garden Show kicks off today at Texarkana, Texas, Convention Center on Cowhorn Creek.
Homeowners, remodelers, builders and others can see a wide range of products and services available for all sorts of projects in home-building.
"It shows people what's out there and what we can do for them. We always get customers out of it," said Paul Huckabee of Rogers Equipment and Construction.
The association has held the annual show for about 30 years.
About 45 vendors are expected to be on hand to show off what they do, and many of the vendors will offer freebies.
On Saturday, two classes will be held for people who have plans to build or remodel in the near future. Experts, including builders, realty appraisers and bankers will be on hand to answer questions. The classes are free.
The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Tickets for adults and children older than 12 will be $5.
Half the proceeds benefit Texarkana Home Builder's Association and the other half goes to Habitat for Humanity. Many vendors were at the convention center Friday to set up their displays.
Ricky James, branch manager and sales manager at Acme Brick, was setting up a display of Horizon stone.
"We always try to bring things people don't think about when they hear Acme Brick. I'm about to bring in an 8-foot door," he said.
Acme's Texarkana facility serves all the local counties in Southwest Arkansas and Northeast Texas. Its 3,500-square-foot showroom features samples of Acme manufactured brick as well as decorative cast and natural stone.
