Wake Village police have made a second arrest in the death of 4-year-old D'Money Lewis.

Police arrested Khadijah LaShawn Wright, 25, of Wake Village on Thursday morning.

She is the mother of D'Money. Wright was arrested on the charge of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury/death by omission, which is a first-degree felony. If convicted, it is punishable by five to 99 years or life in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division.

Bond has not yet been set.

The child's father, Benearl Jermane Lewis, 24, is accused of capital murder in the death. His bail has been set at $1 million.

D'Money died March 8.

Staff at Wadley Regional Medical Center told Wake Village police investigators the child was suffering from bleeding in the brain and bruising to his back and chest.

An autopsy showed damage included a "space occupying subdural hematoma."
