A body found Wednesday in an abandoned vehicle has been identified as John Neal Jr., 19, of Texarkana, Texas.
Texarkana, Texas, Police Department is investigating the death as a homicide, said Sgt. Geoff Lewis, department spokesman.
At 5:42 p.m. Wednesday, officers were dispatched to a report of a burnt vehicle in the 4200 Block of Findley Street. Officers found Neal in the backseat of a four-door Mitsubishi suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The inside of the vehicle had minor fire damage.
Detectives and crime scene technicians were called to the scene to investigate. Evidence indicates Neal was killed somewhere else, Lewis said.
