Teenager charged in threat

Texarkana, Ark., Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old boy alleged to have threatened a shooting at Arkansas High School.

Patrol officers arrested the boy Saturday on a felony arrest warrant for first-degree terroristic threatening, spokeswoman Cpl. Kristi Bennett said in a statement.

At 11 a.m. Friday, TAPD responded to the school, at 1600 Jefferson Ave., in reference to a threat report. The school district's security department reported receiving information of a 17-year-old boy who made a recent threat of a school shooting.

TASD security also told police the teen was possibly on campus. The student allegedly made verbal threats and sent threatening messages, Bennett said.

Police immediately began to search for the teen and found him at his home. Further investigation led to the warrant and Saturday's arrest.
