Texarkana Gazette's Salute to Veterans reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m., today, at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church.
This is the 19th year for the event. Registration is at 2 p.m. The ceremony starts at 2:30 p.m.
Gazette Editor Les Minor will emcee the event, which features patriotic music, a performer and recognition of various service branches. Lunch will be served, and door prizes will be given out.
"The Texarkana Gazette is privileged to again host this event," Minor said. "For those who have given so much, this is but a small token of what is owed to them. Please join us; come out and honor our veterans with your attendance."
Minor said in addition to the luncheon and musical entertainment, a short patriotic video will be shown to set the tone.
The church is at 4000 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas.
