Ready to Train

Texarkana College industrial training coordinator Thomas Holt explains the purpose of the equipment within one of the new rooms at the Betty & Buddy Ledwell Workforce Training Center on Friday at Texarkana College. The center's dedication is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 27. The $1.5 million building will house all the college's workforce programs, including the construction technology department, which has been at the Texarkana Independent School District property. The workforce center is named after a well-known local family business established in 1946, which has flourished and has a strong presence in the community. The company specializes in custom-manufactured bodies, trucks, trailers and parts. The groundbreaking for the center was held in February.
