Thousands of area youth filled Pleasant Grove's Hawk Stadium Wednesday night for the annual Fields of Faith, which brought inspirational music and personal testimony to the crowd.

Students from area churches and high schools from not only Texarkana, but also from Maud, Redwater, Queen City, McLeod, Magnolia, Hope and others, were entertained by performances from area drumlines and recording artists prior to the event.

Red River Fellowship of Christian Athletes Director told the crowd that many had said churches could not come together to make Fields of Faith happen, but that they overcame many challenges to get it done.

"They said it couldn't be done in Texarkana," Akin said. "You are viewing and seeing the impossible and it's all thanks to Jesus. God showed up in Texarkana tonight."

Texas High student T. J. Wall, who is a junior this year, told his story of the struggles he's been through since birth, as he has a disease that prevents his muscles from growing. He is in a motorized wheelchair and said he loves football, especially the Dallas Cowboys, but he realized at an early age that he would not be able to play the sport.

"I came to realize that God had different plans for me," Wall said. "After knowing Christ, I kind of saw the greater picture. I can see he's using me and that 's the greatest thing, to be used by God to spread His word.

Wall, a member of Trinity Baptist Church, is also a sports editor for the Tiger Times. He encouraged attendees to never give up on their faith, or God.

"Whatever you go through, God already has it solved," he said.
