In this digital age, the phone in your pocket is a gateway to the world and so many services. For several years, people have been used to the idea of services like Uber, that summon a driver to take you where you need to go. Imagine, however, when that car shows up, it is there not to give you a ride, but to bring you a meal. That is what TexasToGo is all about.
"We are just taking the app technology and applying it to food delivery," said Caleb Pittman, area manager. "It is a partnership with the driver-partners, the restaurants and us. We set up the app and the network and it is the restaurants and drivers that make it work."
The business has been around for several years, operating in several Texas cities as well as towns in others states under other names.
Last week, TexasToGo did a ribbon cutting with the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, officially marking operations in Texarkana. The restaurants and food outlets currently partnering with TexasToGo in Texarkana include Buffalo Wild Wings, Golden Chick, Chicken Express, Big Cheese Pizza, Great American Cookies, Loca Luna, Los Ruvalcaba, Taste of India, TLC Burgers and Fries and Verona-On-Broad.
"We already have a wide range of eateries available in our service and we have room for plenty more," Pittman said. "Also, we are hiring new drivers. This is an idea job for those unemployed or underemployed or those who just want to earn a little extra money."
