The Chicago Cubs saw why the New York Yankees signed Masahiro Tanaka to a seven-year, $155 million contract after he struck out 10 batters and allowed 2 bunt singles in a 3-0 victory Wednesday.

Travon Martreas Walker, 27, was indicted earlier this year for deadly conduct for allegedly shooting at a man who had just fought with one of Walker's friends Jan. 30 in the 200 block of Apache Trail in Texarkana, Texas, according to a probable cause affidavit used to create the following account. The man who Walker allegedly aimed a gun at told Texarkana, Texas, police that he and Walker's friend were about to engage in a fist fight when the friend handed Walker a black handgun to hold.

When the scuffle was over, Walker allegedly pointed the gun toward the man his friend had just fought and fired several shots. Kaitlin Lee, 23, was found lying in an alley near Brookwood Drive suffering from a gunshot wound. At the time, investigators theorized she had been killed by a stray bullet fired in the Apache Trail disturbance, according to earlier reports.

Lee died at a local hospital Jan. 31.

Evidence developed since the shooting led to Walker's murder indictment. He is currently being held in the Bowie County jail. The case is assigned to 5th District Judge Bill Miller.
