Early voting for Bowie County's general election begins Monday

NEW BOSTON, Texas-Early voting for Bowie County residents, in the upcoming Nov. 6 general election, starts Monday.

Voters seeking to vote early can cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Oct 26 at either the Bowie County Courthouse in New Boston or at the Bi-State Justice Center Building in Texarkana, Texas.

Weekend early voting at both the courthouse and the Bi-State Justice Building, will also take place from 1 p.m., to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 and 28.

The final week of early voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., starting Oct 29 through
Nov. 2.

The election will be for various U.S. congressional offices as well as state executive, legislative and judicial district offices, along with county offices and local public school district
offices.

Besides elective offices, Bowie County voters will also decide on either approving or disallowing the formation of Emergency Services District #5, near the Simms community, as well as Emergency Services District #6 for the Malta and Hubbard communities and DeKalb.

Of the county offices, only one-Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 2 is contested. The two candidates include Republican Todd Fore and Democrat Jimmy Wesson.
