Lone Star Legal Aid is hosting an open house from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at its office at 3001 Richmond Road in celebration of Pro Bono week.
The office serves low-income residents with civil legal problems.
The agency's mission is "to protect and advance the civil rights of low-income Texans by providing advocacy, legal representation and community education that ensure equal access to
justice."
Local attorneys who volunteer their services to Lone
Star Legal Aid will be recognized during Pro Bono week. The Texarkana office serves Bowie and Cass counties.
An Arkansas office serves Miller, Lafayette, Little River and Hempstead
counties.
