PG trustees hear financial report

Pleasant Grove Independent School District's Board of Trustees approved several committees and heard the September financial report during their regular meeting Thursday.

They approved members for the following committees: District Educational Improvement, Campus-Level Planning and Decision-Making, Campus Attendance, Library Materials Review, Language Proficiency Assessment, Placement Review, Title Advisory and the School Health Advisory Council.

District Director of Finance Derick Sibley reported that revenue is $17.1 million and that expenditures are at 97 percent of the budget at $16.8 million. Current tax collections for 2017-18 are 100 percent at 12,835,937.

He said bond funds are currently at $20.02 million and that bond updates will be posted to the school website regularly.

"Bond funds will be updated on the website so that people can see where their money is going for the bond fund," he said.

Dr. Jason Smith, PGISD superintendent, reported that enrollment is 2,143 with 98 percent attendance,

The board also heard a report on the Limited English Proficiency program and from the School Health Advisory Council.

In other business, Steve Elliott with Lewis Architects gave a report on potential construction managers for the new elementary school project. He said there were eight submissions for a construction manager before the cutoff date of Sept. 6.

Elliott said he looked over the proposals and selected three, which he said were companies that had completed projects of this size and budget.

The district will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday to interview the potential construction managers. The next regular meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
