Citizens didn't let the rain stop them from coming together to attend the first Dine on the Line event Friday night, Oct. 30, 2015, in downtown Texarkana.

Reservations to Dine on the Line must be made by Oct. 1.

The fourth annual Dine on the Line is scheduled from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, and for the first time will include Oktoberfest.

The event benefits Main Street Texarkana. There are a limited number of seats at the long table straddling State Line Avenue, so reservations for the dinner are required.

Tickets can be purchased online at Eventbrite.com. Search Dine on the Line, or make reservations at 903-792-7191. The cost of a ticket to dine at the table is $30 for each adult and $15 for children under 12.

Verona on Broad is providing a three course dinner featuring a taste of some of the most popular dishes at its restaurant. The Texarkana Jazz Orchestra will entertain the crowd during their "Dinner through the Decades."

The table will start at the Federal Building/U.S. Post Office and go a little past the Grim Hotel.

Former Miss Texas and Texarkana native Stacy James Mayo is coordinating the event for Main Street Texarkana. The event is a fundraiser for downtown. This year's theme is "There is No Place Like Home," James said.

"I am really excited to do this. I'm excited about the whole event and seeing the community come together," Mayo said.

A new addition this year is the inclusion of Oktoberfest. Wristbands may be purchased at the event for $10. Anyone who enters the Oktoberfest tents must be 21 or older.

Local home-brewed beer will be made by members of the Four States Fermenters, and there will be a Pro Brewers Tent with local and regional breweries selling and giving away tastes of their custom beers and showcasing merchandise.

General admission to the festival is free, Mayo said.

Those attending will be able to shop an array of local vendors, and there will be a wide variety of live music on the Main Stage in front of the Post Office.

The event starts at 4 p.m. with music by Caroline Joyce, Jase Bryant and Mark Meadows. Silvermoon Children's Theatre will also showcase a sneak preview of a number from their upcoming musical "Annie."

A fashion show will be on the Main Stage at 5:30 p.m., where more than a dozen of Texarkana's own local boutiques will showcase outfits from their Fall lines. Randy Altenbaumer will serenade the crowd with some of his piano favorites, including tunes from Texarkana's own Scott Joplin.

During the event, anyone can buy an unlimited amount of raffle tickets for a chance to win gifts provided by local businesses, including Mayo Manufacturing.

Also new this year, Discovery Place Museum has partnered with Dine on the Line for a Kids' Corner. For $5 a child, parents may drop off their child inside Discovery Place where kid friendly, fun-filled activities will await children 12 and under. Kids' Corner will be supervised by professional staff members. An adult must sign each child in and out. Oktoberfest wristbands and Kids Corner admission may be purchased the day of event.
