Police arrest female suspect in stabbing

A Texarkana woman has been arrested on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge after a fight with another woman.

Kaneicia Ellis, 26, was arrested Monday night after she was involved in a fight with another woman in the 1600 block of Peach Street, according to Texarkana, Texas, police.

There are differing accounts about who actually started the fight between the women, according to a police report.

Police say that at some point during the fight, Ellis got a knife out of her car and managed to cut the other woman's face and head several times while swinging the knife around.

The victim was treated at the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries that required several stitches.

Ellis' bond was set at $100,000. She is being held in the Bi-State jail.
