Union Pacific Railroad has rescheduled maintenance work at a crossing on Farm to Market Road (Kings Highway) between U.S. Highway 67 and U.S. Highway 59.
Due to unforeseen problems, the maintenance work at the railroad crossing has been rescheduled for Sunday in Texarkana, requiring the roadway to be closed for most of the day.
The crossing will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until work is completed, said Marcus Sandifer, a spokesman for Texas Department of Transportation. Traffic will be detoured on U.S 59, Interstate 369 and U.S 67. There will be signs for detoured routes.
The construction schedule and road closures can change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen problems.
